September 2011 In October we will be welcoming Dr Nina Lupton who will be joining our team from the UK. She will be doing internal locums and working in the Walk-in centre initially. She and her husband have relocated permanently to New Plymouth. Skin Cancer Centre: Both Dr Geoff Tvrdeich and Dr Lester Kelly are now Southern Cross Insurance affiliated providers for Skin Cancer diagnosis and surgical treatment. This means that patients with Southern Cross Specialist-Only surgical cover will be covered when seen within the Skin Cancer Centre at Carefirst. Naevus Skin Cancer Screening and Mole Mapping continues to lead the way in early diagnosis on Melanoma and surveillance of atypical moles. Physiotherapy services: - acute walk-in soft tissue injury clinic and scheduled physiotherapy appointments and treatments. Assessment and treatment of all musculoskeletal injuries including spinal and peripheral joint injuries. A strong emphasis is placed on acute injuries, manual therapy, sports injuries, spinal manipulation, biomechanical analysis incorporating corrective strengthening exercises and acupuncture. Additionally, we have an on site gym, or if required an off site gym for rehabilitation programs under the guidance of the physiotherapists. Repeat Prescriptions We have also now added an online repeat prescription request form which can be completed and submitted online or printed out and faxed or dropped in. This service is only for regular repeat medications that have previously be prescribed by Carefirst. Depending on circumstances, you may be asked to book an appointment prior to medications being prescribed.
